Art expert on salvaging priceless artworks of Notre Dame
Updated on Apr 17, 2019 02:17 pm IST
Art experts watched in horror as Notre Dame Cathedral went up in flames. The 850-year-old UNESCO world heritage is home to incalculable works of art. Authorities said that the church's structure had been saved. Art experts are concerned about the fate of artworks inside the cathedral. “The works of art, if we were to use the broadest possible definition for this art, there's so many of them and I only hope that most, if not all of them have survived,” said Nancy Wu, Medieval architecture expert and educator at the Met Cloisters.
