Bangladesh: Hindu homes attacked over 'Facebook post' after violence at pandals

Communal violence continues to burn Bangladesh as fresh attacks on Hindu houses were reported from Rangpur city after an alleged blasphemous Facebook post went viral. Reports say that rampaging mobs torched more than 20 Hindu homes in the neighbourhood where the man accused of insulting religious sentiments of Muslims was residing. While police managed to save the person behind the Facebook post, but the neighbourhood bore the brunt of the arson attack. Bangladesh is on edge since last week after alleged Quran desecration triggered communal violence in parts of the country. Several people, including those from minority Hindu community, have been killed. Bangladesh PM Sheikh Hasina promised action against the rioters while India has also raised the concern over the violence. Watch this report for more.
