Beating climate-change odds, a wolverine is born in Belgium
Updated on Apr 17, 2017 05:02 pm IST
A wolverine that was born in February in a Belgian wildlife park has come out her den for the first time this week. Wolverines spread through Europe in pre-historic times but are now restricted to Scandinavia, parts of Russia and North America. The rising global temperatures are worrying the conservationists as the habitats of wolverine would shrink further. Currently, there are approximately 1300 wolverines living in Europe. The wolverine is a powerful animal that can attack creatures much taller than itself.
