US Secretary of State Antony Blinken met China's top diplomat Wang Yi on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference 2023 in Germany. This was the first time that senior officials of both countries met after the Chinese "spy balloon" furor. Blinken called the Chinese balloon incident an "irresponsible act" and warned Wang Yi that such incidents "must never happen again."
