- US authorities have ordered probe into 'seizure' of Sikh turbans at border with Mexico. According to human rights advocates, nearly 50 Sikh migrants were forced to remove their religious headgear at US-Mexico border in Yuma sector of Arizona. In a letter sent to US Customs & Border Protection (CBP) Commissioner Chris Magnus, the American Civil Liberties Union called the turban seizures 'serious religious-freedom violations'. The human rights body also claimed racial bias and termed it dehumanising. After which the CBP has ordered probe into the matter and asked all officials to treat migrants with respect. Remember, there is no restriction on Sikh turbans in the US. Watch this report to know more.
