Florida school shooting survivors continue protest while lawmakers reject ban on rifles

Survivors of the mass shooting attack at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, Florida made their way to the state capital Tallahassee to demand for ban on rifles. Ironically, the day they were travelling, the Florida state house refused to consider a bill to ban assault rifles and large capacity magazines. The attack, which was carried out by 19-year-old Nikolas Cruz, has yet again opened up fierce debates on gun control laws in the US. Donald Trump has tweeted about strengthening background checks but there has been no indication of implementing stricter gun control laws.
