Hundreds of Niger women rallied in front of a French military base in Niamey with kitchen utensils and brooms demanding the departure of French soldiers from the country. Despite a military coup last month, some 1,500 French soldiers are still present in Niger while France has refused to shut its diplomatic mission in the country despite tensions with the military rulers.
