Israel rebuffs US over operations against Palestine militants in West Bank

Israel has opposed the US call to review rules of engagement in the occupied West Bank. Israeli Prime Minister Yair Lapid said ‘no one will dictate our rules of engagement to us.’ Speaking at a military ceremony, Israel's PM said ‘we are the ones fighting for our lives.’ Israel's strong response came after the US State Department said that it will urge Jerusalem to review its engagement practices after it was found that Al Jazeera journalist Shireen Akleh was likely shot by an Israeli soldier.
