Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan accused the Netanyahu government of continuing illegal actions in the West Bank and Jerusalem during a meeting with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas in Ankara. Erdogan reaffirmed Turkey’s support for the Palestinian cause and a two-state solution, while condemning attacks and alleged provocations targeting holy sites, including Al-Aqsa Mosque and the Ibrahimi Mosque. He also criticised Israel’s approach to Gaza, saying its government has made “deadlock its motto” despite international efforts and agreements. Abbas stressed that lasting peace requires ending the occupation and establishing an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital.
