Qatar reportedly issued an ultimatum to the Palestinian militant group Hamas, warning it of expelling senior Hamas officials if it rejects the latest ceasefire deal proposed by the U.S. As per a CNN report, the U.S. has been pressing its Arab allies to ensure Hamas accepts the proposed ceasefire deal. Apart from Qatar, the U.S. is also putting pressure on Egypt to close access to Gaza if Hamas rejects the deal. This comes amid reports that Hamas is likely to reject Israel’s new proposal for a Gaza ceasefire.
