- Russia is finally feeling the heat of sanctions imposed by the West for its invasion of Ukraine. As per PTI report, Russia has defaulted on the supply of LNG to India. Russian gas producer Gazprom has failed to supply 5 cargoes of LNG to India, since June. This under a long-term deal with India's largest gas firm GAIL to export 2.85 million tonnes of liquefied natural gas (LNG) per annum. As per PTI report, Gazprom cited difficulty in sourcing gas due to sanctions. The report added that GAIL is now scouting for alternatives including tying up supplies from other sources in the US and the Middle East. Watch this video for more details.
