Israel reacted strongly after Turkish president Recep Tayyip Erdogan hosted Hamas political wing chief Ismail Haniyeh in Istanbul for talks on Gaza and other matters related to Palestine. Foreign minister of Israel in a post on X slammed Turkish president for meeting Hamas leadership while Turkey's foreign ministry in response criticised Israeli government for ongoing war in Gaza.
