Russia's ally Iran seems to be the United States' new "target" in the Middle East. The U.S. military has deployed 3000 troops to the Middle East to "deter" Iranian Forces. Washington has also sent additional naval assets to the region amid the tussle with Iran. The move comes after Iran boosted its own naval capabilities with a series of new weapons. Iran has been on the U.S. radar not just for its nuke programme but also for pro-Russian moves. Tehran has openly sided with Moscow amid a raging conflict in Ukraine. Notably, Iran has also provided Russia with advanced drones to take on Ukrainians.
