Even as a war of words continues between the United States of America and China over the Covid-19 pandemic, a fresh flashpoint has emerged between the two nations. A report by the US State Department has suggested that China may have conducted secret, low-level nuclear test explosions, in contravention of a treaty that Beijing claims to adhere to. The report cites activity at the Lop Nur test site as a source of concern. The charges have been repudiated by the Chinese government.
