Venezuela’s Interior Minister Diosdado Cabello said the country is “at peace” and gradually returning to normal following the January 3 U.S. military operation that led to the capture of President Nicolas Maduro and First Lady Cilia Flores. Speaking at a press conference in Caracas, Cabello claimed daily life is resuming, with schools reopening, businesses operating and security forces maintaining regular patrols across the capital. He acknowledged that fear initially kept some parents from sending children to school but insisted calm has now returned. Cabello strongly condemned the U.S. operation, calling it a “total outburst” and stating that the number of victims exceeds 100. He said the scale of explosions has complicated efforts to identify all the dead, with forensic teams still working to recover remains.
