Kashmir issue not an obstacle in sealing FTA with India: Germany
Updated on Jun 18, 2011 08:38 pm IST
Germany's Ambassador to India, Thomas Matussek, said on Friday that the issue of Kashmir would not pose an obstacle in the signing of Free Trade Agreement (FTA) with India, which is expected to take place within the coming months. Matussek's comments come soon after a resolution was passed by the European Parliament, linking Kashmir to the sealing of the FTA with India. Stressing that the resolution was a reflection of the political expectations of the parliamentarians, Matussek said the negotiations on the agreement were on track and that the pact would be sealed soon.
