Watch | The final goodbye to ‘the Greatest’ Muhammad Ali
Updated on Jun 11, 2016 02:47 pm IST
Muhammad Ali made his final journey through his hometown Louisville, Kentucky on Friday, arriving at a cemetery where he was laid to rest. Thousands of mourners along the route threw flowers at the hearse, pumped their fists and chanted, “Ali! Ali!” for the former heavyweight champion of the world known simply as 'The Greatest'. This was followed by a star-studded memorial service where he was eulogized as a wildly charismatic breaker of racial barriers. Ali's nine children, his widow, two of his ex-wives and other family members accompanied the body to the cemetery.
The boxing great died last week at 74 after a long battle with Parkinson's disease.
