Zelensky to admit defeat? Ukraine army flees from 5 towns in key area as Russia surrounds Pokrovsk

Published on Nov 12, 2025 07:24 pm IST

Russian forces have captured three settlements and forced Ukrainian troops to withdraw from five key locations in the Zaporizhzhia region as dense fog and fierce artillery attacks have accelerated Moscow’s advances. Ukrainian officials describe the situation as “quite difficult,” with defensive positions destroyed. Heavy fog has grounded Ukrainian drones, allowing Russian troops to infiltrate and attack on foot and motorcycles, particularly around Hulyaipole and Pokrovsk. Ukrainian forces withdrew from Uspenivka, Novomykolaivka, and several other towns following relentless Russian fire, which destroyed fortifications and forced troops to reposition deeper within defensive lines.
