U.S. President Donald Trump acknowledged a tense call with European leaders over his Ukraine peace proposal, saying “pretty strong words” were exchanged with German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, French President Emmanuel Macron and UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer, and warning he could “walk away” from efforts to end the war if they keep dragging their feet. Merz later said the conversation was detailed but “constructive,” revealing that Kyiv had just sent Washington a revised proposal that Trump hadn’t seen at the time.
