United States President Donald Trump has hit back at his former secretary of state Rex Tillerson calling him “dumb as a rock”, “lazy like hell” and lacking the “mental capacity” needed for the position he had held till earlier this year.

That was payback from the president to Tillerson who had descried Trump as “undisciplined” and given to violating the law, at an event Thursday in Texas. The two men parted ways in March 2018 when Tillerson was informed he was being fired while away on a tour to Africa.
Tillerson’s had been a tumultuous tenure and his relations with the president never really recovered after it was reported that he had called Trump a “moron”, something which he never expressly denied.
“What was challenging for me coming from the disciplined, highly process-oriented Exxon Mobil corporation,” Tillerson said at an event in Houston, Texas on Thursday, was “to go to work for a man who is pretty undisciplined, doesn’t like to read, doesn’t read briefing reports, doesn’t like to get into the details of a lot of things, but rather just kind of says, ‘This is what I believe’.” He had gone on to say the president was given to violating the law and didn’t.
President Trump, who is not known to overlook insults and slights, hit back hours after in a post on Twitter: “Mike Pompeo is doing a great job, I am very proud of him. His predecessor, Rex Tillerson, didn’t have the mental capacity needed. He was dumb as a rock and I couldn’t get rid of him fast enough. He was lazy as hell. Now it is a whole new ballgame, great spirit at State.”
