Halloween is a time for costume parties and candy for most people, but for Harry Potter fans the excitement is beyond words. It is a time for Potterheads to dress up like their favourite characters, but during this time it is not Harry, Ron, Hermione, or Fred and George. This time of the year, it is time to deck up like characters like the Hogwarts ghost Nearly Headless Nick or the wicked wizard Lord Voldemort.

Bellatrix Lestrange personifies what a film or book villain looks like. Known asone of the most evil witches in wizarding history, she tortured her victims and carried out other cruel acts. Bellatrix killed Sirius Black, Harry’s godfather, and tortured Neville Longbottom’s parents. Her curly hair and pitch black robes have become a symbol of evil.
Lord Voldemort
J.K. Rowling describedVoldemort as "the most evil wizard for hundreds and hundreds of years". The white, noseless wicked wizard’s look is an ideal Halloween costume.
Dolores Umbridge
Dolores Umbridge and her all-pink dresses have become a symbol of cruelty, with some saying she is a character more hated than Voldemort is. She punished her students with harsh methods, for example, she forced Harry to slash "I must not tell lies" onto his hand with a magical quill.”
Professor Quirrell
Professor Quirrell, a disciple of the Dark Lord, is deemed evil because he chose to follow a person as evil as Voldemort. His bald look, coupled with his eerie expressions if one can impersonate them, could make an amazing Halloween look.
Dementor
Looking like Dementors could be a good Halloween costume idea simply because of how frightening they appear –tall, black-cloaked figures with rotten, skeletal hands. The creatures are known tosuck a person's soul out and drain them of feeling of happiness.
Moaning Myrtle
Moaning Myrtle, a ghost who haunts a girls’ toilet in Hogwarts, is actually an innocent girl who was killed years ago. However, her glum face and thick glasses make her appear strange and scary.
