In his first remarks since the start of the US-Israel and Iran war, Israeli PM Netanyahu has stated that Lebanon is “playing with fire” if it does not move to disarm militant group Hezbollah.
Iran says Trump ‘must pay’
Iran's security chief Ali Larijani on Thursday told Trump said that Tehran "will not relent until making you sorry for this grave miscalculation.”
Responding to US President Donald Trump, he wrote in an X post, “Trump says he is looking for a speedy victory. While starting a war is easy, it cannot be won with a few tweets.”
Larijani's statement comes after Iran’s new Supreme Leader Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei in his first statement on Thursday, said that all US bases should be immediately closed in the region. Khamenei, who was also injured i the US-Israeli strikes, added that Iran will avenge the deaths caused by the bombardment.
"We will seek compensation from the enemy, and if they refuse, we will take as much of their property as we determine, and if that is not possible, we will destroy the same amount of his property," he said.
He also added that the leverage of closing the Strait of Hormuz should be used and that Iran’s attacks on Gulf Arab neighbours will continue.

As the conflict between US-Israel and Iran spreads to the wider region, the UAE, Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, Lebanon, Oman, Saudi Arabia and more continue to intercept and destroyed missile and drone attacks fired from Iran.

In a message read out by a state TV broadcaster, the first the new supreme leader has issued since he was appointed to succeed his slain father, Mojtaba said all US bases in the region should be closed as they would be attacked.
