US Election 2024 live: Moscow denies role in fake US election video

Moscow on Saturday denied it was behind fake videos about the US election after American intelligence said Russia was behind a fake video showing a Haitian immigrant claiming to have voted multiple times.

"We have noticed the statement of the U.S. intelligence services accusing our country of disseminating fabricated videos about electoral violations in the United States. We view these allegations as baseless," the Russian embassy in the United States said in a statement on Telegram.

Three US intelligence agencies on Friday said in a joint statement that "Russian influence actors" created the video as part of "Moscow's broader effort to raise unfounded questions about the integrity of the US election".

US Election 2024 live: US-Israeli settlers hope to see a second Trump term

With less than a week to go before the United States elects its next president, American citizens residing in distant Israel have a clear preference: Republican candidate Donald Trump.

Recent polls indicate that a significant majority of Israelis—66 percent, according to a survey by Israel's Channel 12 News—long for the era when the former president occupied the White House.

During his previous administration, Trump made Israel a priority, relocating the American embassy to Jerusalem, recognizing Israeli sovereignty over the occupied Golan Heights, and facilitating the normalization of relations between Israel and several Arab nations through the Abraham Accords.

Many Israelis now believe that Trump will provide even more support as the country confronts threats from Iran-backed militant groups in Gaza and Lebanon, as well as Iran itself.

US Election 2024 live: Trump claims vaccine skeptic RFK Jr will play a 'big role' in health care if he wins

Donald Trump announced that Robert F. Kennedy Jr., a member of the Kennedy family and a prominent vaccine skeptic, would have a "big role" in his administration if he wins the election next week.

Speaking to reporters outside a high-end halal restaurant in Dearborn, Michigan, Trump expressed strong confidence in Kennedy, who has spent the last two decades spreading vaccine misinformation, asserting that he possesses the ideal qualifications for a significant position.

"He's going to have a big role in health care," Trump stated, adding with his usual flair: "He knows about it better than anybody."

Trump acknowledged that Kennedy holds "some views that I happen to agree with very strongly and have for a long time," but he avoided questions about whether he specifically supported Kennedy's views on vaccines.

US Election 2024 live: Harris rebukes Trump for saying Liz Cheney deserves rifles aimed at her

Kamala Harris said that it was “disqualifying” for Donald Trump to suggest that former Rep. Liz Cheney, one of his most vocal Republican critics, should have rifles “shooting at her” to determine her stance on sending troops to fight.

The Democratic vice president has actively campaigned alongside Cheney, particularly in the “blue wall” battleground states, which are crucial for her path to victory on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Trump has targeted the former Wyoming congresswoman and her father, former Vice President Dick Cheney, regarding the Iraq war and U.S. military actions overseas.

After arriving in Madison, Wisconsin, Harris urged voters to reflect on who they would prefer in the Oval Office, reiterating her campaign message in its final week. She referred to Cheney as “a true patriot” and remarked that Trump “has increased his violent rhetoric.”

US Election 2024 live: Trump and Harris hold competing rallies in Milwaukee in final push for Wisconsin

US Election 2024 live: Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump are set to hold rallies just 7 miles apart on Friday night in the Milwaukee area, aiming for a final push to secure votes in Wisconsin’s largest swing county.

Milwaukee holds the highest number of Democratic votes in the state, while its conservative suburbs are home to many Republican voters—a crucial base for Trump as he seeks to reclaim Wisconsin, which he won narrowly in 2016 but lost in 2020. A key factor in his 2020 defeat was reduced support in these suburban areas and an increase in Democratic votes within Milwaukee itself.

US Election 2024 live: Pennsylvania challenge of Elon Musk's $1M-a-day voter sweepstakes moves back to state court

A legal fight over Elon Musk’s $1 million-a-day voter sweepstakes is back in state court in Pennsylvania, a loss for the billionaire, after a federal judge said Friday that he doesn't have jurisdiction.

Philadelphia District Attorney Larry Krasner wants to keep his fight to shut down the giveaways in state court, calling it a violation of state lottery laws. Musk had argued that the case belonged in federal court as it involves claims of federal election interference. A judge scheduled a hearing for 10 a.m. Monday. It wasn't immediately clear whether Musk would attend though Krasner previously argued that Musk should have to appear in court. (AP)

US Election 2024 live: Trump fraud claims stir concerns of another contested US election

Republican Donald Trump's false claims about voter fraud in the critical battleground of Pennsylvania have raised concerns he could again try to overturn election results if he fares poorly against Democrat Kamala Harris in Tuesday's U.S. presidential election.

Opinion polls, both nationally and in the seven closely divided states, show former President Trump locked in a tight race with Vice President Harris four days before Election Day.

Trump continues to falsely claim his 2020 loss to Democratic President Joe Biden was the result of widespread fraud in multiple states that Trump lost, while he and his supporters have spread baseless claims about this election. (Reuters)

Democrats are readying a rapid-fire response to flood social media and the airwaves with calls for calm and patience with vote-counting should Donald Trump try to prematurely claim election victory, as he did in 2020, Harris campaign and party officials told Reuters.

The Republican candidate told reporters this week that he hoped to be able to declare victory on Election Day, although election experts have cautioned that it could take several days for the final result to be known, especially if there are demands for vote recounts in some key areas. Trump is locked in a razor-thin race with Democratic rival Kamala Harris. (Reuters)

US Election 2024 live: Missouri judge dismisses lawsuit seeking watchers at early voting

US Election 2024 live: A Missouri judge on Friday denied a Republican committeeman's effort to force the state's third-largest county to allow watchers or challengers to observe early voting.

Judge Dewayne Johnson wrote that the document filed by St. Charles County Central Committeeman Travis Allen Heins “fails to satisfy the requirements” of a temporary restraining order. Johnson didn't consider the merits of the case but dismissed the challenge because it wasn't written meeting state legal standards.

Under Missouri law, each political party on the ballot can designate a challenger for every polling place on Election Day. Heins’ petition argued that he should be allowed to observe now because ballots are really tabulated as soon as voters feed them into a scanner. (AP)

The Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency said it is investigating the video.
