Brown University shooting update: Police have identified a suspect who killed two people and injured several others on the Providence campus last weekend, Reuters reported, citing sources. Now, investigators are also looking at a possible link between the Brown University shooting and the murder of a Massachusetts Institute of Technology professor near Boston. Officials have, however, not released the name of the shooter.

Meanwhile, on Thursday, officers in SWAT gear were seen surrounding a storage facility in Salem, New Hampshire. The Reuters source said that it was in relation to the Brown University probe.

Brooke Taylor of Fox News reported that officials are at the facility where the suspected shooter's abandoned car was found.

“Direct high level source on the ground says they are about to enter the storage facility and the reason you saw all the officers in the parking lot just standing there was because they were watching surveillance footage to see whether the suspected was in the storage facility still. ATF, FBI, and Providence Police all on scene,” Taylor posted on X, platform formerly known as Twitter.

Was the Brown University shooting suspect arrested?

With few clear leads, investigators circulated images of a person of interest as well as another individual seen nearby, hoping public tips might help identify the shooter. Police briefly detained one man in the aftermath, but later confirmed he was not involved and released him.
