UPDATE: San Bernardino County Fire has confirmed that the commercial fire that broke out in Fontana, California, has been fully contained. There is no longer any threat to nearby homes.
“Fontana: Valley IC declared fire knocked down at 3:15 p.m., with threat to nearby homes eliminated. Crews will now be in mop-up stages for an extended period. County Fire heavy equipment crew enroute with an excavator to assist with overhaul,” the department said in a post on X.
Earlier, officials reported that firefighters were actively working to contain the two-alarm blaze at a tractor-trailer dealership on Valley Boulevard near Live Oak Street.
“#SBCoFD on scene of two-alarm COMMERCIAL FIRE on Valley Blvd. near Live Oak St. Fire is in a tractor-trailer dealership yard, with exposures to homes immediately adjacent. Crews have made good progress, with exposures threat minimized,” the department posted.
