Matt Van Epps secured 54% of the votes in Tennessee's 7th district, defeating Democrat Aftyn Behn, who managed to secure 45.1% votes. The counting began after the polls closed on Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. CT.
Even though it seemed a tight contest for most of the counting, things quickly changed with Van Epps extending his lead - especially in Montgomery County, where Aftyn Behn led for a long time in early counting. Except for Davidson County, Epps defeated Behn decisively in all the other counties.
