A massive fire broke out at Madeira Beach in Florida on Thursday, November 27. The blaze was at the marina at 13665 Gulf Blvd as per local media reports.
Several boats were believed to have been engulfed in the flames. The boulevard was reportedly closed due to hoses on the road. A further update indicated that four boats were on fire and firefighters were deploying booms to contain potential environmental hazards from the leaking vessels. Hazmat crews were also reportedly on the scene.

Visuals shared on social media showed heavy black smoke, visible from a distance.
Another local page posted on Facebook, “Huge fire … looks likes John’s pass area.” The video showed black smoke visible from the beach.

There has been no official word from the Madeira Beach Fire Department and a cause for the blaze is not known yet.
Madeira Beach fire reports prompt worries
Several people reacted to the news of the blaze there. One person shared a photo of the boat on fire and wrote that they'd heard the explosion. Another commented, “Hopefully everybody is okay!”.
Yet another said, “Prayers to all involved.” Several people shared photos from the road, where the smoke could be seen. One person also posted an image of the firefighting efforts, as a massive jet of water could be seen being sprayed in an effort to control the blaze.
Madeira Beach is a city located in Florida's Pinellas County. It is bordered on the west by the Gulf of Mexico, and on the east by St. Petersburg.
