The FBI on Tuesday dropped the surveillance footage from outside the home of Nancy Guthrie on the night of January 31 when she went missing. This is the first major revelation about a potential suspect in the case even as the 84-year-old still remains missing after two weeks.
The photos and videos were posted on social media by FBI Director Kash Patel on Tuesday. The released videos and images were part of "footage from Nancy Guthrie’s home that may have been lost, corrupted, or inaccessible due to a variety of factors," Patel said.
The videos were shared as a follow up X post by Kash Patel on the original post containing clear images of the potential person of interest.
“Working with our partners - as of this morning, law enforcement has uncovered these previously inaccessible new images showing an armed individual appearing to have tampered with the camera at Nancy Guthrie's front door the morning of her disappearance,” Kash Patel wrote.

Ex-FBI Agent Gives Verdict On New Photos
Retired FBI supervisory special agent Steve Moore described the apparent kidnapping of Nancy Guthrie as “highly premeditated” yet “poorly planned.” Moore said the suspect appeared unfamiliar with firearms. The suspect carried a small pistol in a holster designed for a much larger revolver, he noted.
He labeled the individual an “amateur,” pointing out basic mistakes such as failing to cover the doorbell camera. According to Moore, the suspect’s behavior suggests this may have been the first time they attempted anything of this nature.
