A wild video that has gone viral on social media shows law enforcement authorities shooting an unarmed woman with a rubber bullet. The person who recorded the video, shared on Instagram by @iamfatimakhadijah, claimed that the woman was “just trying to get home” before the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) shot her at “point-blank” range. The incident took place amid the intense protests across Los Angeles following the intensified ICE raids. The LAPD said on Tuesday that it made “mass arrests” after Mayor Karen Bass imposed a curfew in the city's downtown area from 8 pm Tuesday to 6 am Wednesday.
“Multiple groups continue to congregate on 1st St between Spring and Alameda. Those groups are being addressed and mass arrests are being initiated. Curfew is in effect,” LAPD said on X. The announcement followed Bass' tweet that read, where she warned, “Law enforcement will arrest individuals who break the curfew, and you will be prosecuted.”

Trump fired back at the California governor with a scathing Truth Social post on Wednesday: “The INCOMPETENT Governor of California was unable to provide protection in a timely manner when our Ice Officers, GREAT Patriots they are, were attacked by an out of control mob of agitators, troublemakers, and/or insurrectionists. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!”
