COLOMBO: The close relationship between China and Sri Lanka will have no bearing on their ties with other countries, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said on Saturday.

COLOMBO: The close relationship between China and Sri Lanka will have no bearing on their ties with other countries, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said on Saturday. Yi is on a three-day official visit to Sri Lanka ahead of President Maithripala Sirisena’s China visit later this month. India has in the past expressed some concerns over a $1.5 billion Colombo Port city project which is to be built by China on reclaimed land in the sea. China says it intends to make the 21st century maritime Silk Road a priority.
