At least 15 Serbian, German, Czech and Swedish tourists were in the coach when it crashed near Safaga, the security official said. Eight tourists and four Egyptians were killed in the crash, a medical official told AFP. Ten tourists were also injured, including three seriously.

Egypt's roads are among the most chaotic and dangerous in the world, with traffic laws frequently flouted and roads not properly maintained. In 2008, more than 8,000 people died from traffic-related accidents, officials say.
