The state-run Turkish news agency says police have detained more than 40 people in 12 cities in a sweep against Kurdish rebels.
The Anatolia news agency says police raided the premises of a pro-Kurdish television station and some premises used by municipalities run by a Kurdish political party in today's sweep.

The agency says those detained include a deputy leader of the pro-Kurdish Democratic Society Party and a lawyer for imprisoned Kurdish rebel leader Abdullah Ocalan.
Turkey's Constitutional Court is deliberating whether to shut the party down for its alleged ties to Ocalan's outlawed group, the Kurdistan Workers' Party, or PKK.
