Two killed in Pakistan as militants target school van

Militants targeted a school van with a roadside bomb in northwest Pakistan today, killing two teachers and injuring three children, police said.

Militants targeted a school van with a roadside bomb in northwest Pakistan on Wednesday, killing two teachers and injuring three children, police said.

The remote-controlled bomb was triggered by militants at Hassan Gari in Peshawar district when the van from the
private school was passing by. The van's gas cylinder too exploded.

Teachers Nazakat, 55, and Samina, 53, who were sisters, were killed instantly. Doctors at the Lady Reading
Hospital here said they received three injured students.

The school van was damaged by the blast.

In a separate incident, three passers-by were injured when another explosive device went off in a garbage dump in
Hassan Gari area, police said.
