A passenger aboard a Korean Air Lines flight has captured the moment when the aircraft's wing was struck by lightning mid-air.

A passenger aboard a Korean Air Lines flight has captured the moment when the aircraft's wing was struck by lightning mid-air.

The video shows the aircraft flying through dense fog in rough weather. A Daily Mail report said the plane was believed to be coming in to land in South Korea after departing from Singapore.

The video, credited to Myagmarsuren Ricci, is believed to have been shot using a GoPro camera.

Lightning bolts are not known to cause damage to aircraft as bolts hit their extremities, before travelling through the outer shell and leaving the body. The Boeing 777-300 made a safe and early landing in Incheon after the incident.
