The father of terror suspect Najibullah Zazi, accused of attempting to bomb New York City, has been charged with conspiring to obstruct justice by destroying evidence.
Mohammed Wali Zazi, 53, had allegedly tried to destroy chemicals and other material that was being used by his son for bomb making.
In October at a court in Denver, senior Zazi has already pleaded not guilty on charges of lying to the Feds and was out on bail. But, now the old charges have been dropped.
The new court charge in federal court here accused Zazi of conspiring with others to destroy or hide "glasses, masks, liquid chemicals and containers" that were evidence in a foiled terrorism plot.
The older Zazi was arrested in Denver and is being sent to New York. Last week, the Zazi's uncle Naqib Zazi, 38, was also indicted in the same case, and pleaded not guilty.
These arrests are linked with the terror plot that was allegedly being planned by Zazi, a Colorado shuttle driver who was arrested and indicted last year.

{{/usCountry}}In court documents the Justice Department says that Zazi purchased "large quantities of hydrogen peroxide" and acetone from beauty supply stores in Denver over last three months.
Zazi junior is accused of trying to cook up homemade bombs in a Colorado motel for an attack on New York City.
