Watch | Children left emotionally scarred under Islamic State control
These children have been emotionally scarred under the Islamic State regime. Their Syrian village was liberated from the militant group on June 6. The journey has been rough. The boys have witnessed some of the group's most savage practices - including methods of torture and brutal killings. 12,000 children have been killed during the five-year war, according to Save the Children. The UN says around four million are not in education. The scales of war in Syria have tipped in Assad's favour since Russia began an aerial campaign last September, helping the government troops capture wide areas from insurgents.
