Organised by Banyan Tree events, the show is titled Khusrau-Kabir and will be held on June 22. The idea behind this concert is to celebrate the poetic genius of the two writers.

The recital will feature the Warsi Brothers — Nazeer and Naseer Ahmed Khan Warsi — and their group, rendering the works of Khusrau and Kabir through qawwalis. “Our association with this event goes a long way. This year, we are going to perform qawwalis by Khusrau and Kabir in our own classical style. We want the audience to enjoy our music and the way we render the works of these great poets,” says Nazeer Ahmed Khan Warsi.

The evening will also feature singer Madan Gopal Singh and his Chaar Yaar group from Punjab. They will present the works of the two poets by fusing Sufi music with traditional folk sounds. The last performers in the line-up will be Mukhtiyar Ali and his group from Rajasthan, who will present songs on Kabir’s poetry.
