According to sources, the singer has been in the British capital for a series of meetings with a top theatre producer who has now offered her a 15,000-pound-a-week contract.

She will reportedly make her stage debut next spring.

“Mariah’s done a bit of acting in her time but nothing on this scale,” the Mirror quoted a source as saying.

“She was hugely flattered to have been asked and is determined to nail the part… she is pretty confident in her own abilities.

“And although there’s been talk of musicals, Mariah has always wanted to star in a play so this really is a dream come true,” the source added.
