Upcoming displays of theatre arts in the city.

Wake up Call

A presentation by Chilsag Chillies Theatre Company, the play revolves around the occurrence of a bomb blast in Delhi. The plot looks at the effects of violence on people, a community’s varied responses towards tragedy and examines the insensitivity of those with might and power. It is an Old World presentation.

Tamasha Na Hua

Theatre director, Bhanu Bharti, brings a play written as a tribute to the great poet Rabindranath Tagore on his 150th anniversary. It is a play within a play, in which a theatre group is rehearsing Tagore’s play Muktdhara to commemorate his anniversary. The sub-plot involves preparations to celebrate the completion of the dam on the streams of Muktdhara.

Ramkali

Ramkali is the adaptation of Bertolt Brecht’s play - The Good Person of Szechwan. It raises the core issues of today’s world, such as of greed versus common good, the value of right and wrong and the pressures society puts on people that drives them to committing wrongs to keep up with expectations.
