The Congress on Friday accused chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan of facilitating the "escape" of beleaguered governor Ramnaresh Yadav, who flew out of Madhya Pradesh on Thursday after being booked in the multi-layered examination and recruitment scam.
The hard-hitting statement came in the midst of swirling speculations over the next course of action by Yadav who has refused to quit despite being named in an FIR filed by the special task force in what is commonly known as the professional examination board scam.
The Congress – which has produced a series of "evidences" to prove Chouhan's complicity in the scam – said that after the chief minister provided “safe passage” to Yadav, who faced imminent arrest after he was booked under the Prevention of Corruption Act.
The party described it is an “offence” and demanded that a case be registered against the chief minister.
"If a case is not registered, the Congress would approach the court," the party added.

Raj Bhavan officials had said that Yadav had gone to Delhi to attend the marriage ceremony of Samajwadi Party supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav's grandnephew with the daughter of Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief Lalu Prasad.
Raj Bhavan sources said Yadav failed to get an appointment with President Pranab Mukherjee throughout Friday.
He remained in his room in Madhya Pradesh Bhavan the entire day and only met people from his native Uttar Pradesh, sources said in Bhopal.
The governor is scheduled to return to Bhopal on Saturday.
However, there are rumours that Yadav might not return to the state as of now and remain in Delhi until a decision is reached on his future course.
