Cyclone Nilofar likely to affect weather in Madhya Pradesh

The officials said the cyclone is expected to strike Gujarat on Friday and change in weather in Madhya Pradesh is likely from Thursday. The state is likely to witness a cloudy sky and moderate rainfall can also occur in west central region.

However, the officials said the cyclone will bring heavy rainfall in Gujarat and Rajasthan but its impact on Madhya Pradesh would be clearer after it strikes the coastal area of Gujarat.

Earlier this month, many parts of eastern Madhya Pradesh witnessed thunderstorm due to cyclone Hudhud which hit coastal areas of Andhra Pradesh and Orissa. Two deaths were also reported in the state due to heavy rainfall which occurred due to Hudhud.

No major change in the temperatures of major cities of the state was witnessed on Monday. The minimum temperature in Bhopal was 17.3 degree Celsius, while minimum day temperature of Indore, Gwalior and Jabalpur was 15.8, 17.9 and 19.2 degree Celsius, respectively.
