MP Chief Minister to leave for UK on Sep 25, to meet investors

MP Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan will begin his three-day visit to the UK from September 25.

The visit is in response to an invitation by Priti Patel, secretary of state for international development of the UK government.

Officials at the CMO said Chouhan will meet smart city management experts and Priti Patel on September 26. He will also meet CEOs of different companies and explore the possibilities of investments in automobile, food processing, renewable energy, smart city management and integrated industrial townships in Madhya Pradesh.

With the aim of setting up defence equipment manufacturing units in Madhya Pradesh, Chouhan will meet Maghin Tamilarasan, vice president of Rolls Royce — which specialises in providing integrated power and propulsion solutions.

Director of Diageo Martin Hatfull and other members of the Scotch Whisky Association will meet the CM and explore the possibilities of setting up beverage units in Madhya Pradesh. The association promotes interests of whisky industry around the world.

The chief minister will meet the founder of Purico Group Shri Nathu Ram Puri and discuss about investment opportunities.

Purico Group is into manufacturing of paper, polymers and plastics. He will also meet the head of De La Rue Pic Group, which specialises in supply of cash handling equipment and security products.

While JCB has two production units in Rajasthan, the CM will meet Phillip Bouverat to explore the possibilities of setting up a new manufacturing unit of construction equipment.

Chouhan will also attend a dinner hosted by Gopichand Hinduja, co-chairman of the Hinduja Group of Companies.

On September 27, Chouhan will meet Professor Mike Parker Chairman of Indo-UK Institute of Health and Dr Ajay Gupta CEO, Mike Nithacrianakis of Department for International Trade, Rajesh Agarwal, the Deputy Mayor of London and address a seminar on opportunities in Madhya Pradesh organised by CII and UK India Business Council.
