A Congress delegation visited Jehangirabad police station on Saturday again in an attempt to lodge an FIR against several BJP leaders including speaker of the state Sitasaran Sharma.

It was the second time that Congress leaders visited the police station with complaint of alleged fraudulent appointments in MP Assembly secretariat during the BJP regime. Earlier, the complaint was limited to Union minister Narendra Singh Tomar and former BJP MP Raghunandan Sharma, who allegedly got their PA and son appointed in the state assembly, respectively.

On Saturday, the list of 'accused' had several more names including Sitarasan Sharma, legislative affairs minister Narottam Mishra and principal secretary in the state assembly secretariat Bhagwan Dev Israni.

State Congress chief spokesperson KK Mishra, in a press conference held a couple of days ago, had accused all these BJP leaders of connivance and fraud for appointment of their hand-picked candidates in the state assembly secretariat. Israni was accused of occupying the position of principal secretary in the state assembly secretariat fruadulently.

The Congress' attack on BJP for alleged illegal appointments in the state assembly during BJP regime began after Jehangirabad police recently registered an FIR against party leaders Digvjjaya Singh and Sriniwas Tiwari for 'fraudulent' appointments during erstwhile Digvjaya regime. Report to that effect was lodged by an assembly official and FIR was lodged instantly but Congress' complaint was received without registering an FIR on both occasions.
