A day after five persons died of suffocation at the Adani Wilmar edible oil plant in Neemuch, the company paid compensation of Rs 15 lakh each to the nearest kin of the victims on Friday.
The dead were identified as Yuvraj Singh Chandravat, Rahul Singh, Deepak Yadav, Rajendra Singh and Ravi.
On Thursday, the company announced an ex-gratia compensation of Rs 50,000.
However, the management increased the compensation amount and handed over a cheque of Rs 14.50 lakh and Rs 50,000 in cash to the family members on Friday.
Police said the postmortem of the dead had been conducted and investigations were underway.
State home minister Babulal Gaur's proposed visit to the district on Friday had been cancelled and sources said he could visit on Saturday.
According to primary information, two workers entered the tank to clean it and started suffocating. When they called for help, other workers rushed to the spot and they also became unconscious.
Local BJP MLA Dillep Singh Parihar had appraised the incident to chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan who assured a thorough probe into the matter.
