Alia Bhatt is moving out of her parents’ house to her own in Juhu

The actor’s new apartment is in Juhu, close to her parents’ house.

Even though Alia Bhatt is currently busy promoting her next, Kapoor & Sons, the film isn’t the only thing on her mind. The actor is planning to move out of her parents’ (film-maker Mahesh Bhatt and actor Soni Razdan) house soon.

“It was meant to happen on my birthday (March 15), but I have been a bad mother to my house. I haven’t had enough time to decide on the interiors. I am looking at moving into the new house, maybe, after a month and a half,” says Alia.

The actor’s new apartment is in Juhu, close to her parents’ house. “It is just 10 steps away from my family home,” says the 23-year-old, adding that she decided to move out because she wanted to give her parents some space.

“Sometimes, I want to do narrations, readings and fittings at my house. But, I can’t keep eating into my parents’ space,” she says. The actor adds that she has been “literally living out of boxes” for a while now. “I have a nice room, but I have too much stuff. My mum has got an extra closet made outside my room, but it’s still not enough. I am moving out only due to lack of space,” she says.

Recently, Alia said in an interview that she would like to have a house in Dubai. Ask her about that, and she says, “I said that randomly, when I was asked if I want to buy a home there. So, I said that Dubai is the greatest holiday spot, since it’s so close, yet a bit far.”

On the work front, Alia has teamed up with her Student Of The Year (SOTY; 2012) co-star Sidharth Malhotra in her next. “Sid has become more comfortable in front of the camera. During SOTY, I was always energetic and chirpy, but he used to be quiet and didn’t talk much. But he has changed. Plus, he has grown phenomenally as an actor,” she says.
