Birthday with Saif: Kareena takes time off to see Northern Lights in Iceland

'I enjoyed eating crisps and sandwiches at birthday parties when I was a kid. I wish I could afford to do that now It’s been five months that Saif and I haven’t spent quality time together, so we are taking a break before I start my next,' says Kareena Kapoor Khan.

She’s shot through the year, travelled the country to promote her film and delivered a Rs 100cr hit recently. Actor Kareena Kapoor Khan, who turns 34 today, says she is celebrating her birthday by taking a much-needed vacation with hubby, actor Saif Ali Khan. “The past few months have been very hectic. First, I was shooting for Singham Returns. Then, Saif was shooting for his next. It’s been five months that Saif and I haven’t spent quality time together, so we’re taking a break before I start with my next project with Salman (Khan) in October,” says Kareena.

She further reveals that this time around it is not the usual London or New York, but an offbeat destination. “We’re planning to see the Northern Lights in Iceland. Spending quality time is so important in a profession like ours, where we’re constantly apart,” she says. The actor believes that gifts should not be restricted only to birthdays. “Birthday is not the only occasion to gift me something. There is never an occasion, it should be out of the blue, like I won’t mind getting a gift this evening,” she says.
