Bollywood goes bold, pulls up its skirt, oops socks, to roll out edgy sex thrillers.

Ragini MMS
Directed by Pawan Kripalani, the movie is about a young couple who enter a house to spend a weekend. They are, however, unaware that the house is loaded with hidden cameras. The twist comes when their recorded love-making scenes reveal a supernatural element. “Ragini MMS is a paranormal sex thriller that will blow your mind away,” says Girish Johar of Balaji Motion Pictures, producers of the film.

The film, starring newcomers Raj Kumar Yadav and Kainaz Motivala, is due to release on May 13.

The Dirty Picture
The usually demure Vidya Balan dons a racy avatar for a biopic based on southern sex siren Vijaylakshmi, popularly known as Silk Smitha. Directed by Milan Luthria, the movie explores the journey of Smitha, who gained notoriety in 1980s for her bold exposure. Balan, who will wear provocative outfits in the film, says, “Silk Smitha will be more of my personal interpretation than her impersonation.” The film, that also stars Emraan Hashmi, Naseeruddin Shah and Tusshar Kapoor, will release on Nov 25.

Jism 2
If the first installment gave actors Bipasha Basu and John Abraham their now-famous ‘sexy’ tags in Bollywood, director Pooja Bhatt claims the sequel is going to get bigger and bolder. According to the latest buzz, Bhatt may zero in on actor Mallika Sherawat, known for her outgoing sex appeal, to play the female lead in the sequel. While Jism 2 will be produced by Bhatt and actor Dino Morea, the action is set to get racier as the outing is being planned in 3D. The movie’s release date is not yet confirmed.

Murder 2
Aladin girl Jacqueline Fernandez has shed all inhibitions to scorch the big screen with her bold avatar in the much-awaited sequel, directed by Mohit Suri. Fernandez, who replaces Mallika Sherawat in the sequel, has even gone on record to state: “My earlier films were for small boys. I want Murder 2 to be for the big boys.” In the film, also starring Emraan Hashmi, she plays a cover model for a magazine, which is similar to that of the Indian Playboy. The film is due for a July 29 release.
