Chhapaak actors Deepika Padukone, Vikrant Massey seen together for time in new pic from film’s sets. See here
Actor Deepika Padukone has shared a new behind-the-scenes picture from her upcoming film, Chhapaak, which shows her at a table read session with her co-star Vikrant Massey and director Meghna Gulzar. They are joined by noted lyricist and Meghna’s father, Gulzar. “All things are ready, if our mind be so,” Deepika quoted William Shakespeare in the caption.
Another picture from the session, which showed several other team members in the room, has been shared by film trade analyst Taran Adarsh.
Deepika will begin shooting for the film in Delhi from Monday. She told the press at the recent Zee Cine Awards in Mumbai, "It's so ironic that on the day of Holi, I am off to Delhi for the shooting of Chapaak. We will start shooting it on Monday. It's a very important film and I feel that the story which we are showcasing in our film needs to be told."
Chhapaak is based on acid attack survivor Laxmi Agarwal, who has previously voiced her approval of Deepika being chosen to play her. “I am so happy that Deepika is playing the role. I have no right to judge her. How can I judge someone for something which I can’t do. She has played wonderful characters on screen and I believe she will give her best. I want to thank Deepika ji, Meghna ji and the entire team who will be working together on the film,” she said.
Meghna has said that Deepika will be seen in heavy prosthetics in the film, which serves as the actor’s follow-up to Padmaavat. “You won’t be seeing Deepika, you know. You will be seeing a disfigured Deepika. There is an uncanny similarity between the survivor and Deepika,” the filmmaker said at an event in Chennai.
