Director Tigmanshu shoots a scene for pal

Actor Sanjay Mishra is making his debut as a director with Pranam Walekum, and has roped in his friends from National School of Drama (NSD) to feature them together in a scene.

Actor Sanjay Mishra is making his debut as a director with Pranam Walekum, and has roped in his friends from National School of Drama (NSD) to feature them together in a scene.

“Many of us, like Ashok Lokhande, Hemant Pandey, Neeraj and Vijayndra Kala have studied together at the National School of Drama. I wanted a scene where all of us are present so that we can relish it all our lives,” says Mishra, who has entertained his audience for around 16 years through films and TV soaps."

He has even managed to bring in actor Irrfan Khan for a cameo. With this, even director Tigmanshu Dhulia has fulfilled a long-standing wish.

Sanjay claims, “Irrfan was my senior at NSD. He is one of the most talented actors around. Tigmanshu was my batch mate and roommate at NSD. I always wished that if I ever make a film, he should direct at least one scene in it.”

Ask him if he had to undergo any special preparation for getting into direction, and he says, “Being from NSD, directing a film was not that troublesome for me. It’s not necessary to be someone’s assistant before you venture towards an independent project. Being in the industry since so long, I feel that if you keep your eyes and ears open, it’s enough.”
