Farah-Boman: ‘Weight’ and watch
Actor Boman Irani, 52, and choreographer-turned-filmmaker- turned-actor Farah Khan, 47, seemed to have really got into weighty issues, thanks to their movie Shirin Farhad Ki Toh Nikal Padi that hit theatres yesterday.
Rumours were rife that Farah was asked to lose weight for the film. But the debutant actor has a different story to tell.
“No. No. In fact I had to put on weight, which I did, with great difficulty. I was so thin before the film,” she jokes. Boman is quick to add, “I had to force Farah to eat. She was really like a stick. She was sub-zero sized, you know and one can’t buy clothes for that size. She used to wear her children’s clothes.”
We shift focus to Boman’s weight and ask him if he had to lose some, like he did for Don 2. And before he answers, Farah barges in with a surprised look. “Really? It didn’t show ya, Bomsi,” she says, pulling his leg. Boman too, doesn’t hold back and pat comes his reply: “It was converted into muscles you see.”
Continuing the body talk, we ask Boman about his first-ever skin show — a towel scene in this film. “I don’t know why everyone is so interested in this scene. It’s not like I was full monty. It’s just a normal scene, like any other in the film,” he says.
Coming back to Farah, we ask if she’s game for more acting projects after this. “Not at all! I’m done with it... This was the first and the last time you saw me acting,” she says.
